best of show for Loss and Beauty!

I’ve received the most wonderful news. Loss and Beauty (the book) has been named one of four BEST OF SHOW in the Davis Orton Gallery/Griffin Museum of Photography Photobook 2015 competition. To be honored by such respected individuals and to be among a group of tremendous talent is an amazing experience. I am humbled, honored, and truly overjoyed.

Thank you Karen Davis and Paula Tognarelli for giving the photo world the opportunity to share their work and BOOKS (I love books!) with a wider audience. We are all richer for your labors.

I’d like to offer a special thank you to Mark Muse, whose assistance in the layout and design was the key to ensuring its success. And Ed Zahniser stepped in at the very last moment and did a spectacular and thoughtful editing job. I am surrounded by goodness and greatness.

People near and far are supporting the message of Loss and Beauty. Please, share it with your friends. You can never tell what effect these ripples have.

"Loss and Beauty is a literary work of photography based on Holocaust survivor's diaries. But it is also a uniquely involving visual experience, one that uses masterfully merged photographs to draw one in, establish and hold a mood and ultimately tell a story. Importantly, the work also asks each viewer a searching and timeless question: Can profound loss by addressed by beauty? Keron Psillas' answer, in her deeply realized book and exhibit, is yes."
